An Elegant Country Wedding

I can’t get over how absolutely gorgeous this wedding is. This couple did such an amazing job at incorporating rustic elements to their wedding while still keeping it elegant overall.

The photography for this wedding is stunning. I love the wedding party pictures with the country backgrounds. They look fabulous.

Also, how sweet is this couple. They got some amazing shots while still letting their goofy side shine through.

If you missed this couple’s engagement shoot, check that out here.

THE CEREMONY

Our ceremony took place in a small Baptist church in the country. It was short and sweet; our Pastor gave a meaningful message about marriage being a covenant rather than a contract. There was special music and a scripture reading all involving family members. There were lovely flowers at the front, bows decorating the pews, and it was a bright and sunny day outside.

THE MUSIC

The bride came down the aisle to the song “Jessica’s Theme” from the soundtrack to the movie The Man from Snowy River. The hymn “I Love You Lord” was sung during the ceremony, with accompaniment on the piano and guitar by the bride’s aunt and two cousins. The couple exited the sanctuary to Coldplay’s “Paradise”. During the cutting of the cake at the reception, the song “Sugar, Sugar” by the Archies was played. The couple had their first dance to the song “It Had to be You” by Frank Sinatra with Billy May and the wedding party danced a lively jig at the reception to celtic music.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY

Glenda Travis Photography was our photographer. Beautiful pictures were taken outside since it was a gorgeous and sunny summer day. Pictures were taken along a treeline in the countryside with striking green foliage as the background, beside a riverbank, and in front of a split rail fence. It was an elegant picture shoot over all, with a bit of mischief mixed in.

THE RECEPTION

Dinner was served to beautifully decorated tables in a spacious banquet hall at a hotel in Orangeville, ON. There were touching speeches by family members and the wedding party as well as the bride and groom. The night ended with a lively dance. The DJ played lots of favourites which were accompanied with a video screen.

THE DECORATIONS/DETAILS

On the tables and chairs were cream tablecloths and chair covers. The centrepieces were flowers and foliage planted in flower boxes along with sprinkled “jewels”. The bridal parties bouquets were used on head table for further decoration. The backdrop of head table was lit with white fairy lights. We had a fancy cake knife and server and champagne flutes. There were also ‘Bride and Groom’ stuffed bears on the table that were used at my two sister’s weddings as well. On top of the cake was a cute cartoon cake topper.

THE FAVOURS

We gave out small metal watering cans (country/garden themed) with our names and wedding date printed on them which were  filled with Hershey’s kisses.
